Law enforcement may be called upon to enforce quarantines, provide security at over-crowded hospitals and assure those greatest in need receive vaccines. Also the reality is that when bad things happen, people tend to call the police to help solve their problems. But as officers become sick, there will be fewer available to work the health crisis along with their routine law enforcement duties, which will in all likelihood suffer.
