What happens when you are having a feud with a neighboring town? Tell your citizens it's illegal to die.

At least that's what the Mayor of Falciano del Massico has told the village's residents.

There is currently a dispute between the village and a nearby town - where the nearest cemetary is located. So Mayor Giulio Cesare Fava issued the tongue-in-cheek decree.

“The ordinance has brought happiness,” he said Tuesday. “Unfortunately, two elderly citizens disobeyed.”

There is no word on what the reprucussions are for those who break the law.
