At least they call-it American Football, but the resemblance only goes as far as the way the robots score.
It's the 7th Annual Fujisoft sponsored Robot American Football Tournament. The competition is designed to encourage engineering and design as a career choice and features high school teams from around the country.
Each time a robot carries the ball into the "end zone", the team is awarded 7 points. And each match lasts 3 minutes.
Each team is composed of 5 robots. The units can weigh no more the six pounds and be no bigger than 7.8 inches in length, width, or depth.
There are no set plays and it seems more like a wrestling match. But hey...it's fun to watch.
