About R.E.
After a celebrated 35-year writing and reporting career at The Sacramento Bee, R.E. Graswich reinvented himself in 2007.
One of the best known -- and best connected -- journalists in the Sacramento region, Graswich embarked on a new career that includes radio and television appearances, media consulting, a magazine column and an internet blog.
After leaving the newspaper, Graswich turned to the broadcast media, now serving as co-anchor of the KFBK Afternoon News alongside Kitty O'Neal. Graswich also filled in as guest host of the Tom Sullivan Show¯ on KFBK. He began a nightly feature called "The Scoop"¯ for the 6 o'clock news on CBS 13 in Sacramento, and has been a guest host on CW31's Good Day Sacramento.
Graswich writes a monthly column for Sacramento magazine, and contributes a twice-weekly blog for Sacramento magazine's popular Web site, sacmag.com. As a media consultant, he advises clients on issues involving digital and traditional media.
Graswich wrote The Bee's must-read "around town"¯ Metro column for a decade before leaving the newspaper in January 2007. He served as the paper's leading sports columnist for eight years before moving to the Metro pages. Graswich spent his formative years at the newspaper covering sports from the Olympics to the Sacramento Kings.
Graswich is married to Elizabeth Graswich, Director of Communications for the Elk Grove Unified School District, Northern California's largest school district. R.E. Graswich is a San Francisco native who attended local schools.
The Graswich family lives in Sacramento's Greenhaven neighborhood with sons William and Robert. |
