A recent study by The Public Religion Research Institute found that 27 percent of those polled believe that "God plays a role in determining which team wins a sporting event." Also, according to the survey, 53-percent of respondents believe quote "God rewards athletes who have faith with good health and success." Colin Kaepernick may believe that, and the pastor that I spoke to says that may make it true. Executive Pastor Doug Reid of the Capital Christian Center told me that what religion has always done is center people, and help them to focus on their goals.
More than one-quarter of Americans say that on any given Sunday, they are more likely to be in church, while nearly one-in-five say that they are more likely to be watching football.
So what do you think? Does God get a say in the Super Bowl? Will you be praying for the Niners?
