Migration into and out of California continued has found what State and Local Legislatures and governing bodies are looking for BALANCE
Mayflower Transit and UniGroup, reports, through March 2011 that California as a whole has achieved a virtual balance. Even before Statehood California has annually received more residents from other states (and countries) than they gave back. The result population growth. Growth over the past two decades has occurred but due to in-state births and not migration from other states. (In fact for more years than not recently we have lost residents due to migration). Last year was the first year in recent memory that we came close to a virtual balance of residents moving in and moving out. The state of California, more than any other state gave more and received more residents than any other state. The state of California also gave and received more residents to and from more international destination and origins than any other state in the United States.

Where were the folks coming from and where were they going?
Sacramento:
The top 5 states that supplied residents to Sacramento were Texas, Arizona, Washington, Colorado and Florida. The top 5 states that our local residents moved to were Texas, Washington, Colorado, Virginia, and Oregon
