Fishing stories are known for their exaggerated details, but one Michigan man has proof that he snagged a three-pound goldfish. According to Detroit's WDIV-TV Mike Martin reeling in the whooper of a goldfish while he was ice fishing at Lake Saint Clair last Friday. Martin says the 15-inch goldie is the first he's caught in his 20 years of fishing the lake. Apparently, people use the lake to dump their unwanted pets. He says he see's goldfish all the time, but "to actually catch one is rare." Once he had the fish netted, Martin called his father. He says he had no idea what to do with it. Martin ended up taking the fish home and calling officials to see what the state record is. He is still waiting to hear back from officials. In the meantime, Martin says he plans to mount the goldfish on his wall.
