Port Authority officials are looking into whether damages from Hurricane Sandy led to an escalator accident that injured at least five people in New Jersey yesterday. The crowded escalator began moving in the wrong direction at the Exchange Place PATH station in Jersey City during the morning rush hour. Commuters riding up the escalator that quickly changed direction jumped off the sides and fell all over each other.
