Firefighters battling a mobile home fire in Rancho Cordova today ended up rescuing two dogs from the unit. Heavy smoke broke out in the back bedroom area at the mobile home on Redcoat Lane around 10:30 a.m. Sac Metro Fire crews responded and searched for the dogs that were still inside. Once they located them, they began resuscitation  efforts. Animal control officers took the pooches to a nearby Pet Hospital where they are in critical condition. No firefighters or people were injured in the blaze.
