Virginia Beach is ready to take the next step in building a new oceanfront sports arena. W-A-V-Y television says the city is going to ask the state of Virginia for 150 million dollars toward the project. The money from the state would go toward a total 350 million and to compensate an N-B-A team for moving to Virginia Beach.

The Sacramento Kings have been linked to Virginia Beach's arena efforts, but the team is not commenting. According to the W-A-V-Y report, 50-million would go to the N-B-A team. It has also reported that Kings co-owner George Maloof has met with Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and other state officials about moving the team to Virginia Beach.

So what do we make of this? KFBK's Rob McAllister, who broke the story of the Kings possible move to Anaheim last year, is KFBK's arena expert.
