Poll: Spirit Airlines says it will make an exception to its refund policy and reimburse the $197 fare of a 76-year-old terminally ill veteran who had bought a ticket on the carrier, but was then told by his doctor not to fly. Jerry Meekins asked for his money back after the doctor's orders, but the airline told him he should have bought insurance. After much negative publicity, Spirit's CEO apologized and says he'll personally refund the money and Spirit Airlines will make a $5,000 contribution, in his name, to the charity of his choice, Wounded Warriors. Did the airline do the right thing?
