  1. California Governor Gavin Newsom sat down for a one-on-one interview with NBC's Meet the Press Sunday. Newsom was asked about running for President, who he would appoint to fill Feinstein's seat in te Senate if she were to step down, if he was still set to debate Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis, and much more.   2. A bill that is heading to Governor Newsom's desk would ask judges to consider a parent's affirmation of their child's gender while disputing custody cases. For these cases, if parents don't agree the judge will intervene, and weigh a variety of factors. This potential law would add the factor of determining if the child's gender has been confirmed or not. Click here to read more.
  3. The majority of Californian's oppose reparations. According to a new study by the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, 59% oppose it, and 29%support it. Four in ten say they "strongly" oppose it. The task force studying the issue released its report suggesting qualifying Black residents get up to one-million dollars in cash, and other benefits.   4. Today is the 22nd anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. At Cal Expo the September 11 Memorial Plaza will be open Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A ceremony will also highlight the end of 9/11 rescue and recovery efforts. In Folsom, The Folsom fire and police departments will gather around 8:45 a.m. at Folsom City Lions Park and Sacramento Metro firefighters and Sacramento Stand Down will honor Flight 175 and other victims of the 9/11 attacks at the Ardent Little League field on Easter Avenue in Sacramento.
