According to the California Highway Patrol, the two officers involved in yesterday’s shooting are undercover investigators who were assigned to assist with a Sacramento County Auto Theft Suppression Task Force investigation.
One of the investigators is being treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder and the other officer received a gunshot wound to his hand and wrist.
Due to their undercover assignments, their identities will not be released.
