Halloween should be scary, but parents don't have to live in fear.
The Sacramento Department of Environmental management is trying to prevent real horror stories on Halloween. John Rogers says the best treats are served right at home prior the big event,
"Before they go out trick-or-treating, the parents should feed them a snack... so they're not tempted to eat any of the treats while they're out."
Once the booty bag is full, they make sure everything will go down okay,
"Parents should, especially for small children, look for choking hazards like gum or hard candies. Also parents should be aware of the food allergies than any children could have."
