Tom Hanks is updating fans on his health. On Monday's "Late Show With David Letterman," the 57-year-old actor revealed that he has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Hanks says the disease is controllable through diet. While doctors told him that the condition would go away if he could trim down to what he weighed in high school, Tom says he knows that's an impossible goal.
He says he was very skinny in high school and joked that he weighed around 96 pounds.
Tom Hanks stars in the upcoming film "Captain Phillips," which hits theaters on Friday.
