Iraq war veteran Army Sgt Kimberly Walker loved SpongeBob SquarePants so much that when she died at the age of 28 her family had a 7 foot headstone with the cartoon character in an Army uniform with Walker's name and rank erected at Spring Grove Cemetery in Ohio.
Despite getting the cemetery's prior approval of the headstone's design, her family say cemetery staff called them the day after it was installed to say it would have to come down. Kimberly's mother, Deborah Walker is not happy:
Walker did not die in combat...she was found dead in a hotel room in Colorado Springs in February on Valentine's Day. Her boyfriend, an Army sergeant stationed nearby, was arrested and charged with her killing.
