Sacramento Sheriff's officials say an unknown person drove up in a dark colored SUV, left the vehicle and opened fire at a house where there was a toddler inside.
Sheriff spokeswoman Lisa Bowman said the suspect approached the front living room window at the house in the 4700 block of 50th Avenue and fired at least eight rounds into the residence.
The suspect then went to the dining room exterior window and fired more shots.
Miraculously, only one person was injured in the house -- a male in the living room who received a gunshot wound to the bottom of his foot. The 18-month-old toddler was unharmed.
The suspect fled in the SUV.
The family said they did not know the identity of the shooter.
