They're our neighbors and they're changing lives. Sacramento County has honored some local activists, singling out sixteen community members for volunteerism and service. Among the group, Adrienne Wright, one of the founding members of Mother's Against Drunk Driving, reflected on the impact of their service,
"I think there's been a lot of good done, probably a lot of lives saved."
She's spent the last few years also helping seniors as has Bernice Parker a senior herself who will turn 90 in December
Parker spends her weeks working with Alzheimers patients, sorting food for Senior Gleaners and running game nights working bingo Fridays and Saturdays.
Two shifts each day...
...until 130 in the morning.
