For the third time in twelve hours a pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle and killed in Sacramento County.
The most recent happened just before 6 a.m. morning when a man was apparently hit while trying to cross the street at Arden Way near Empress.
"The driver did stop and alcohol does not appear to be a factor," Sac PD's Michele Gigante said
Gigante says that the driver involved in the accident is cooperating.
A few hours before that, the body of a 62-year-old woman was found along East Stockton Boulevard in Elk Grove, she was apparently hit by a car that fled the scene, and there isn't much to go on.
"We don't have any witnesses per say, we don't have any surveillance video, we don't have any physical evidence," Elk Grove Police Spokesman Chris Trim said.
The third accident was last night, when a 70-year-old woman was hit near Eastern Avenue in Sacramento.
