Regional Transit could lose out on federal funding in a dispute over pension reforms. A new state law requires newly-hired transit workers to contribute eight percent of their salaries to retirement, which the feds say is a violation of labor standards. They're now withholding millions of dollars for projects as courts work through lawsuits. Governor Brown has delayed the pension changes through 2015 in hopes of keeping federal money in the pipeline, but RT may already have lost more than $10 million. Officials say they should still have enough money to complete construction of the new Blue Line to Cosumnes River College.
