Federals disaster aid will come for the Rim Fire afterall.
The first request to FEMA by Governor Jerry Brown was rejected at the beginning of Novermber. However, Gov. Brown appealed the ruling with a letter to President Barack Obama.
The appeal was approved, making federal funding available to state and eligible local governments for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the Rim Fire.
That fire started on August 17th and burned until October 24th. Over 402 square miles were burned. Costs of damages was estimated at over $54 million.
