The company responsible for gumming up the computer software upgrade at the Employment Development Department has landed another big government contract.
Consulting firm Deloitte's Internet Technology division, whose software upgrades have crashed state government computer systems in Massachusetts and California, have won another big contract.
This time it's to maintain and operate CalWin, California's computerized welfare and food stamp distribution system.
Deloitte is one of the largest contributors to Governor Jerry Brown.
When asked if there might be a conflict of interest, Brown said the donations have nothing to do with the contracts they win and defiantly said he'll continue to accept contributions from Deloitte.
