California Highway Patrol officers are working to make your child safer when travelling.
In observance of National Child Passenger Safety Week, the CHP will host child safety seat events across the state.
Technicians will be available at these events who are trained in how to properly install seats. They will show you how to get your child's safety seat set up in your car the right way, CHP Officer Mike Harris said.
Harris says they'll be looking for things such as whether or not the seat belt is being used, if the seat belt is twisted and whether your child meets the weight requirements for the seat.
You can also schedule a personal appointment by calling your local CHP office at (800) 835-5247.
